Most sportive people are too proud to see sports psychologist

posted on 8 December 2011

Amateurs in any type of sport are always eager to learn. The pros in sports are also willing to learn more. Both the newbie's and the oldies is sports will one time need a sport psychologist. Other than their passion are sports, these two having something else in common, and pride. They will not admit that they need non sportive help when it comes to the reduction of their brilliance. When they are told to see a psychologist, they will shrug or even scoff at that kind of idea. They would rather spend every waking minute practicing. What they do not realize is that the problem might not be with their practices, schedules and efforts but by their emotional stability. Anxious sport people will either do horribly or radiantly. If they do not do well then they are going to punish themselves instead of looking for a negative emotional trigger that is causing the bad results. A psychologist who is specialized in sports will be very instrumental at the realization of their main problem and they should not fear getting help.

A Taste of Bruno Mars for Kid's Birthday

posted on 28 November 2011

It is official - my daughter, Kristie is a teenager. She just turned thirteen about two days ago and it hit me that my daughter is no longer a baby - but a young lady...at least that's what she claims she is. Anyway, I found it a little more difficult to pick a present for her this year, than it was for many years back. That's because every time I look around, I need to remind myself that I am not supposed to give her toys or story books anymore. Her interests have drastically changed as she turns thirteen. I had to specifically search for possible birthday presents for girls age 13 and I realized it was a tough job to do by myself. Luckily, Kristie's best friend, Lyrah, dropped by one day and told me that Kristie loves Bruno Mars and she was sure that anything that has to do with Bruno Mars will definitely make her happy on her birthday. I was so grateful for Lyrah's tip and so the next time I dropped by the store, I immediately proceeded to the record bar section.

Qualities that Make a Man a Cut above the Rest

posted on 26 October 2011

John is definitely a lady's man. He may not be exactly the best looking guy around, but he definitely has his own unique ways of winning the heart of the girl he likes. Bianca, who is now John's apple of the eyes, cannot agree with this more. Barely a month after their first meeting, Bianca can attest to how much the relationship has blossomed already. From being plain and simple friends, it is safe to say that the two have something special going on right now. Bianca, who is a head turner herself because of her good looks and nice physique, is often asked what makes John stand out from the other guys she has met. According to Bianca, aside from the pamper gifts for her that she receives every so often, John has so many other endearing qualities in him. Despite all his achievements, John has remained to be very humble and really down to earth. He easily blends with people of varying personalities. He is a man of God and he certainly has values worth emulating.

How I Love to Take Photos and Learn as I Go Along

posted on 23 October 2011

I have had many pleasant experiences taking photos. While I'm hardly give myself the title portrait photographer in Berkshire, I do like to take the best shots I possibly can by learning photography techniques. I normally use my iphone to take photos and find it just as good as an expensive digital camera. I enjoy taking photos of the skyline and of the coast line. I have taken a vast number of photos of Sydney and Perth. I think I have accumulated at least 200 images. I have around 10 favorite images that I could never part with. I am intending to fly to Australia this year so this will allow me to take lots of pictures. Very excited about that prospect. At first it was just a hobby however I would like to generate an income stream from the pictures. I am considering entering them into an art exhibition in a few weeks. I sometimes post them on my facebook site. Some of my friends seem to want to inform me that they aren't that good. They are just jealous.

When people get older getting gifts for them becomes harder

posted on 16 August 2011

The older one gets the harder it is to get a gift for friends who are female. I have a constant female friend whom we keep in touch all the time. When we were young, it was not hard to get her birthday gifts. This was because my mother used to help me shop for birthday gifts for all the neighborhood kids. When we got to high school, that is when I realized that gifts for friends girls are not easy to get. This is because every one has changed and it was really hard to know what people liked at that point. I would get her shopping vouchers which she seemed to enjoy because she would go shopping with her friends. She invited me to her twenty fifth birthdays and I did not know what to get her. That is when I saw a picture of us when we were in kindergarten. I got a copy if the picture framed it and gave it to her as a present. She became really nostalgic and she could not help laughing.

There Are So Many Niche Markets Out There

posted on 14 May 2011

The more I work in business (in a B2B sector), the more I realise how many niches are out there when it comes to supply and demand. Anything from artificial pitch maintenance to supplying trophies to fishing competitions, where there's a demand, you'll find a company offering a supply to it. That's the beauty of business to business - because often people running businesses are just too busy - so they rely on other businesses to cater to their needs. You don't need a lot of customers in some niches either if the service you supply needs to be carried out regularly - in that case, just a handful of regular clients can keep you busy. While it's tempting to try and sell commodity products in huge markets, there's so much competition in those markets that you'll find it hard to get your company noticed, and most companies in such markets compete on price too.

The importance of including sporting activity in our schools.

posted on 12 March 2011

High school was a very good place for me. This is where I developed the passion I have for sports. Our high school teachers were so much into sports as they were in school work because they believed that sports was an equally important aspect in a student. We had all manner of sports to explore in, and each of us was required to try our each of them in order to ascertain the one that they liked best. Teachers too were very keen and they helped us in choosing our final sport. I became a great swimmer after so much practice. Most of my former school mates are now involved in sports in different ways. Some of them have become sport coaches while others are sport psychologists. Each of them is doing great with their lives because these days sports are widely appreciated and many people are doing sports as careers not only as a part time activity. I hope many schools will adopt this mode of teaching so as to help our future generation to balance all things in life.

Fishing Is Not Merely a Sport, But a True Lifestyle

posted on 18 February 2011

Fishing is more than an agreeable, though apparently dull pastime. If you read Hemingway's 'The Old Man and the Sea', you will discover how fishing can be converted into a real metaphor for the fight to live, the courage to struggle and be brave. When fearlessly confronting the long-wanted fish, the hero is actually at odds with his own inner demons. However, besides fiction, it takes a lot of patience and dedication to become a successful fisherman. Of course, luck has its part to play, nonetheless you need to prepare all sorts of gear, including bait (e.g. carp fishing tackle and other baits), and fishing lines. Most people fish in lakes, ponds or the sea, as well as in rivers, in specially designated areas. You need to be quiet, find the perfect spot, relax and wait. The rewards are in the process, as well as in the ‘product’, namely, the fish you catch. The passionate fisherman is normally a member of a club, he or – more rarely – she invests much in this hobby and sometimes brags with the prizes or trophies won.

The need for mental training in our everyday activities.

posted on 14 February 2011

Concentration is a very important aspect in life. One's concentration levels can be interrupted by so many factors, including uncontrolled thoughts. This can lead to so many mistakes especially when one is working on a very important project or when one is studying. mental training is a good thing because it helps people improve the level of their concentration. In our offices, we have so many interruptions that can hinder our concentration and subsequently lead to poor performances especially on the part of an employee, but some mental training can save such situations. School students too require some mental training in order to control their thoughts in order to fully concentrate on their studies. When one is attending some examination, concentration is key and therefore they may need some mental training before the examination. In fact, all career trainees require mental training for the future of their careers in order for them to achieve success. These are some of the many areas that require mental training in order for a person to fully concentrate on the activity for better results.

Camping: a Relaxing Evening Under the Stars

posted on 14 February 2011

I think that camping can be one of the most relaxing ways to spend a free weekend - if there's a music festival on, get your festival camping gear and head off to it hoping you get can get a ticket! My girlfriend and I try to spend at least one weekend a month under the stars. Last weekend we loaded the car with our sleeping bags, a tent, fishing poles and her guitar and then headed to the Blue Ridge Parkway to find any spot that caught out attention. On the way there, we stopped to pick up supplies at a local grocery store. For us, this means hot dogs, some dark chocolate, and a nice jug of red wine. After getting our site set up, we wandered down to the creek to toss in our lines with the expectation of not catching anything and enjoying ourselves anyway. As the sun set behind the mountains, we headed back to the camp, gathering firewood along the way. We roasted our hot dogs and relaxed in the fresh mountain air. The next day, we we cleaned up the site, repacked the car and made our way back home, ready for another month of work and stress until our next trip.
